This year I am doing something a bit different with the TT/Matrix. Due to the Covid-19 protocols, we couldn’t hold the usual TT/Matrix in May - a time to refresh your sprint technique and lay down your 1K time at the beginning of the sprint season. As we still seem to have a ways to go until everyone feels comfortable and safe, I will be holding a (single shells only) Time Trial followed by seeded sprint racing on Saturday, August 7.
What this means is, based on your best TT time, you will have an opportunity to be placed into up to 3 sprint races to cap off the day.There are fixed costs for this day as we have to rent coach/safety boat, some singles, and there is a cost per person that goes to BLRC as well as the cost of renting the truck and gas to move our trailer. This cost should be in the range of $50-60/pp but this will have to be confirmed by our inimitable Regatta Committee.
You have been training and honing your rowing technique in singles over the past year and this is your time to see how far you have come. What is more, we will have a fun day on the water without boats, tides, floating debris, etc.
