That's a wrap!

Regattas are done for the year!

We've had a very good year and our training programme has produced some very good results. We have been working hard on developing consistent technique, building up compatible crews, and developing a higher level of understanding as it relates to rowing fitness and the strength and conditioning that requires. We look forward to building on this foundation for our upcoming year with the US Masters in August being our marquis regatta in 2020. I look forward to taking the journey with you.

We look forward to a winter strengthening ourselves through our erg sessions as well as gym workouts. That said, remember that it is very important over the next 3 or so months to enjoy other sports such as x-country skiing, skiing and boarding, snowshoeing, biking, golfing, etc. etc. We've had an intense year and want to make sure that you are feeling balanced and ready to bring your 'A' game to the water. I will continue to try to bring some additional rowing-centric opportunities as well as maybe a snowshoeing/x-country ski group available for you to take advantage of going forward as they are good experience and for wonderful team building.

Note that Coach Elizabeth and I will be taking a couple weeks off from coaching through Christmas, from December 23 to January 5. Through that time, rowing will have to operate on off-program rowing rules when it comes to on water rowing. Be very careful in cold weather and take extra precautions such as actually wearing your pfd's.

Note that only athletes who complete the RADAR testing (ie: erg tests) will be considered for the Matrix which is scheduled for May 3 (time trials are to be held on May 2) so make sure you send a photo of your results to Sara Forsting (saraforsting@gmail.com).
