Week 1 - July 22-July 28

The goals for this next phase is to build up a strong technical foundation and to back off for a time from speed work. We will work on technique and some low-mid rate power pieces. During this time of year, we encourage rowers to mix up in different boats to see if we can find good new crew combinations and/or different positions within the boat.

The workout for this week is below:

Day 1) Technical skill development. Steady state,  R18, firm pressure.
Focus on the catch (the direction of the blade placement should be towards the direction of the boat movement). NOTE: SatM will have a quick meeting before going on the water 5:45 (please don't be late) - 10 minutes. Bring your race experiences and questions.

Day 2) Warm up for 30', then 30' TT at R20, followed by drills and technical focus cool down at the end.

Day 3) Crew boat focus. Row with people with whom you never rowed before or who you wouldn't usually row during the sessions (taller with smaller, advanced with less experienced). The goal is to learn how to adapt and help raising the club's overall standards. Steady state, firm pressure (within the skill level).
