This week in rowing: Post Portland.

The trip down to NWM this year proved to be a good one. Although the distance was far to travel the racing conditions (light cross tailwind and lots of sunshine) were better than expected and I believe fun was had by all.

Mac, Angus and Leah's novices rowed very well looking tidy in technique and strong in togetherness as crews. On behalf of the Masters attending the regatta I would like to thank the novi's for their many hands in helping our crews get on and off the water and Leah for organizing the great spot for Dinner (Rogue Hall) on Saturday night.

Our Masters programme did pretty well. We placed in just about every single race we entered, won some and lost some. There were a few races that were clearly hard fought (Matty in the 1x, Dimas' mixed 4x, Bill's 1x come to mind) and won through sheer grit and determination. A few lessons were also learned about double checking the equipment before racing but aside from that, everyone enjoyed their time on and off the water.

Lastly, take a moment to thank our tireless regatta committee for making things run so smoothly.

Please take pause this week and reflect on your races before you regroup and start the next training phase.

This week in programming will see you in recovery mode; as follows.

Monday: boat unloading/chit chat

Tuesday: recovery row (Adam to coach, guest appearance by DD?)

Wednesday: recovery row (Pierre to coach)

Thursday: recovery row (Dave to coach)

Saturday: see plan

Sunday: see plan

Cheers.
