March 'Madness' of the rowing variety

Team,

It's time. Starting March 15th those committed to P3 training will embark on the monthly testing as outlined in our annual programme meeting.

The competition (read testing) will start on the Saturday and take place throughout the week with seat racing finishing on March 23rd. Please be available.

Your coaches will administer the 6k, 1k and peak power tests throughout the week so that you and I have a solid baseline to work from going forward into the on-water season. Your results will be posted monthly on our bulletin board in the form of a ID number initially and once the process has become more comfortable for all involved ID numbers will be replaced with personal initials (gasp).

Seat racing for 8's and 4's will take place in 2-'s and 4x's and 2x's in 1x's (double gasp).

If any of this frightens you or you do not wish to participate in this round of competition (for one reason or another) please speak to Pierre or myself asap. This type of competition in finding a seat for you is a necessary evil in our sport and truly becomes fun once you get comfortable with the process.

Finally, I would like to call upon our P2 rowers to be a part of this testing process by running safety boats, baking treats and bolstering confidence of those competing through presence and cheer. Please let me know if you are available. Let's come together as a team.

Specific details for seat racing will be presented in an information meeting or by email as Pierre and I work through the arrangements.

As always P2's are more than welcome to join in the 6k, 1k and peak power testing for their own enjoyment :)) P2's are on the hook for 6k testing next month anyway !

*Addendum to this post will most likely happen so check back weekly.
