San Diego Crew Classic and Seattle's Opening Day regatta

San Diego crew classic: April 5-6th

Opening day Seattle: May 3-4th

The beginning of our training programme officially starts on Feb 1st but for those that have committed to P3 and want to attend these two early competitions by trying for a seat in the men's and women's 8, you must submit a 2k test to me by Thurs Jan 30th.

Of those interested, the fastest 10 times (8 plus two spares) will INITIALLY make the boat.

*I understand there is some trepidation here that this objective measure is the "be all and end all" of getting a seat in one of the boats. This isn't the case. Selecting a crew deals with a complex set of variables for a coach to navigate through and does include, availability, attitude, commitment, technical ability, coachability, and sticktoitiveness.  completing a 2k test shows your coach that you have the commitment, positive attitude, basic technical ability, and fitness  in order for you to be considered for a seat.

If you personally would like further, one on one, explanation from either Jesse, Pierre or myself, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.

You all got a small taste this morning of what's ahead so I hope you are as enthused as I am!

Looking forward to tomorrow's  rowing!

Btw: those whom are competing at Beat the Beast, you may use that score.

D.
