This week it seems as though there are many of you that have taken ill (and need some time to get healthy) or have been fighting "something" for a while (and somewhat feel that you are ready to get back to rowing). For the folks of the former, please take your time and get well, ensuring that the bug is dead before you attempt a come back. For those of you in the latter situation, please take an extra practice away from the club and the Petri dish shell bays. Get outside and enjoy our parks with a light run or as Jorgen suggested "hide and seek" along with "crazy-eights" with family! Awesome.
This time of year can be particularly tough on our immune systems and it is quite important to make sure your health is steady before returning to our rowing workouts. They too are particularly tough this month.
If you are worried that you are losing your conditioning...fear not! There is time to complete the essential workouts without getting sick all over again!

The first erg workout this week has been done by the "core" group of rowers and I am pleased with the results. The workouts are in the upper portion of the difficulty scale and our rower's completed them with solid success. Thursday's workout (the tougher one?) has been adjusted (to target) slightly so that all of our rowers -including you!- can do it successfully.
If you are erging on your own regularly and find these workouts an eye-opener, come down during the regular practice times once or twice so that you can receive some tips and advice from us and to absorb the energy of the crew and receive a boost. Just make sure that you are healthy.
