The holidays are fast approaching and along with them the spirited gatherings and festive fair that we know and love. I know we are all looking forward to spending some well-deserved time off amongst friends and family. For some of you travel is associated with this time of year and of course this is time take away from the hours we allot each day to being active and working out/training. It is therefore necessary for me to reinforce the importance of finding the hour(s) to keep on top of your training plan.
I would like to challenge all of you to not miss a workout over this holiday season. It is this time of year (Nov, Dec, Jan) that many clubs across Canada are not training or simply making marginal efforts to stay in shape. Champions can be made by working diligently in these dark months and I assure you that if extra effort is put forth to fulfilling each workout (however time strapped you are) you will reap the benefits in the spring and particularly in August when racing. Broadening your aerobic conditioning now will put you ahead come summer. Period.
