The time has come for all of us to resign ourselves to winter training. Some of you may want to hang your head in sorrow but the majority of us are eager to get things underway because you have seen the benefits of following a specific program over our darkest months. I would like to encourage everyone to take note of the latter point and commit to this essential part of your conditioning. We will begin this week.
Those of you who have not completed their monthly 6k test then Thursday 8th is your night to shine! We have already seen some great scores from the legendary J. Metris (1:45.3/500-"just cruising as he put it"), J. Martin (2:08.5/500-1/2 sec faster than last time!), D. Rhand (2:02/500-1 sec faster than last time) and the scores go on from there. Needless to say, when people are posting improvements over their previous scores at this time of year it is very, very promising. Your training is paying off, stick with it!
Starting this week (Nov.5th), Jesse and I will be splitting our time between the weeknight practices (Jesse Tuesday and Dave Thursday) for the next 36 practices. Workouts will be posted the first Sunday of each month and will be the program spelled out for the duration of it. Please get together your 2012/13 training logs with your key scores listed somewhere inside. We will be looking at these periodically to help you improve along the way. Keeping a log active is an excellent way to measure your success and provide insight into training +/-'s as well. Start right away.
That's all from command central for today. Workouts will be posted next.
