Safety boat sign up - need a few more volunteers

This email has gone out to all SatM and all the coaches I could think of as we are asking for on-water coverage for 6 weeks of May/June as Coach (and Dr.) Elizabeth Peterson has to go out of country for 6 weeks for work. As much as possible, we would like to have a 2nd coach/safety boat on the water for the Saturday Masters' practices.

This link (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1VKUZwEaETtGEdJKATnbnYFKbxtlPPd4ynX2wKZJjQ7c/edit?usp=sharing) takes you to the sign up sheet. Please provide your mobile number as well as your name. We like to meet on the dock to go over the practice by 5:45pm weeknights and 7:45am Saturday mornings. In order to operate a safety boat, you must have working knowledge of how to operate a coach boat and your PCOC (Pleasure Craft Operators Certificate - easy to get it online - it takes very little time).

To those rowers who do not have their PCOC or who may not be trained/practiced in how to operate a coach boat, take the time now to get it so you support all your fellow rowers. It isn't equitable to always rely on the same few fellow program members to run the safety boat. (Also, being in the safety boat gives you a GREAT opportunity to view rowing so that you can see how to correct something you may be working on or just to watch some good rowing.)

If you'd like to come out in the coach boat to learn how to operate it over the next week or so, please come forward to us and we'll put you in the driver's seat.
