we are rolling into Week 1, again. A new training cycle is ahead of us for another year.
I hope that at CASCADIA regatta you were able to apply something that you have been working on for the last year: racing technical elements, starts, transitions, sprints at the finish, some new race strategies etc..
So far, the plan for this week is below:
Day 1) Steady states, technical work. Focus on length. It is not to where you reach out but when you place the blade and lock it in the water. Hold the connection at the second half of the drive to carry the pressure on the face of the blade longer towards the extraction.
Day 2) Technical work, SS with a small bungee cord on the stern in front of the pin, - resistance work. (The bungees that we use to hold the seat when we load the boats, NOT the black ones from cut tires as it will give too much of the resistance. You can find them in a plastic box/ container in the equipment room).
Day 3) Warm up till 8:45. Time Trial 20min R24, max distance.
