Commitment, Dedication and Perseverance...

I am so very proud to say that our Canadian National Team women's 4x has taken silver at the World Rowing Championships in Korea.  Some of you may recognize bow seat as Emily Cameron, my good buddy, taking charge of the crew and delivering a stellar performance to control the race in second position.

For those of you who have not met Emily (she has visited as a guest coach at VRC in the past and plans to again) she arrived at the Don Rowing Club under the University of Toronto novice programme. After making her way into the varsity programme and training summer after summer under Fred Loek and Peter Cookson (their worth a googling) she made our national development team and continued on to being a  carded athlete and powerful additional to the team. This sounds like an overnight success story but I assure you it is not. Emily is a true testament to commitment, dedication and perseverance for she has the same passion for rowing that you do as well.

Enjoy!

You may also enjoy watching the women's 4-. Christie Nurse, another DRC novice rower is in 2 seat.

Proudly wearing red and white,
